The wait is almost over for Morgan Wallen fans! The singer has announced that he’ll drop a new album on May 16th.
Rather than shying away from past legal troubles, Wallen is leaning into his reputation as a bad boy of country music, titling his fourth studio album “I’m the Problem.” But he says that title is also meant to reflect the singer entering a new phase of life.
In a press statement, Morgan Wallen says, “I have been a problem, for sure, and I’ve got no problem admitting that. But there are other sides to me as well. I’ve spent the last 11 months really trying to figure out, ‘Do I still want to be the problem? Is it time to move past that phase in my life?’ I think it probably is, and this might be the last time I get a chance to honestly say it.”
Morgan Wallen Returns to ‘Saturday Night Live’
Wallen will get a chance to prove that when he returns to “Saturday Night Live” as the musical guest March 29 alongside host, “Anora” star Mikey Madison.
Morgan Wallen made his SNL debut in December 2020, two months after being removed from the show lineup for violating pandemic protocols that were in place at the time. The week he was set to appear, Wallen was photographed maskless at a University of Alabama football game, kissing female students.
When he appeared on SNL two months later, Wallen took part in a skit making fun of the incident alongside host Jason Bateman.
Morgan Wallen Hosts “Sand In My Boots Fest” Before Launching Tour
The Country Music Association’s 2024 Entertainer of the Year is set to host the “Sand In My Boots Fest” in Gulf Shores, AL May 16-18, the same weekend the new album drops.
Morgan Wallen is partnering with AEG Events and Goldenvoice, which organizes the Coachella and Stagecoach Festivals, to put on the sold-out three-day event.
The festival lineup features three-dozen acts from a multitude of genres, with Wallen, Post Malone, Hardy and Brooks & Dunn headlining. The lineup also includes rockers 3 Doors Down, Future Islands and The War on Drugs, rappers T-Pain, Three Six Mafia and BigXThaPlug, and hip-hop stars Moneybagg Yo and Wiz Khalifa.
‘I’m the Problem’ Tour Features Big-Name Guests
The singer will launch a 19-city North American tour to support the new album.
The “I’m the Problem Tour” will kick off this June. It comes with a lot of star power from Wallen’s famous friends. Various stops will feature a rotating lineup of celebrity guests including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Koe Wetzel.
This summer’s tour comes hard on the heels of Wallen’s two-year-long 87-stop world tour titled “One Night at A Time.” But the singer says working on new music inspired him to get back out on the road quickly.
