Miranda Lambert Responds to That Cheeky Wardrobe Malfunction

Miranda Lambert isn’t sweating the small stuff, especially when it comes to a little onstage wardrobe drama. The country superstar recently made headlines after a fan-captured TikTok video from her Seattle performance went viral for a rather cheeky reason. But instead of letting the internet run wild, Lambert leaned into the moment with her signature humor and sass.

While performing at Lumen Field on July 25 during Morgan Wallen’s “I’m The Problem” tour, Lambert sported a denim miniskirt, cowboy hat, and fringed black tee tied at the waist. As she danced across the stage, fans in the pit noticed a little more than they expected. Specifically, the bottom of her backside peeking out from under the hem of her skirt.

“Miranda Lambert got up close and personal with us in the pit!” the TikTok user captioned the upload, adding, “Love this song!”

The unexpected exposure sparked a flurry of reactions. One fan joked, “Can’t tell me she don’t feel that breeze,” while another added, “Now we know why front row is so expensive.” Others argued that the smirk on her face meant the moment was fully intentional.

“The smirk on her face shows she knows exactly what she’s doing,” one fan wrote.

‘The House That Built Me’ Singer’s Sassy TikTok Response

I’ve been warning y’all about my backyard swagger since 2014 😘

Rather than ignore the chatter, Lambert responded with a wink and a smile. After the clip went viral, she posted her own TikTok video walking confidently through the venue before the show, wearing the same outfit.

The clip was set to her 2014 hit “Little Red Wagon,” with the line “It ain’t my fault when I’m walking jaws dropping like ooooo ahhhh” superimposed across the screen. It was strategically placed, of course.

“I’ve been warning y’all about my backyard swagger since 2014,” Lambert wrote in the caption, complete with a kissy face emoji.

Fans praised her quick-witted reply, with one commenter writing, “Miranda, I saw it and immediately thought GOALS. Your hamstrings and glutes had me jealous!!”

Another added, “Very glad she has her sass back! She owes no explanation to anyone!! You go girl! You are beautiful.”

Body Confidence Has Always Been Part of Miranda Lambert’s Story

This isn’t the first time Lambert has addressed body image on her own terms. Back in February, she clapped back at a body-shamer who criticized her for wearing leggings during a goat yoga session.

“Yikes, legging type pants are not attractive on people with a little extra here and there. They don’t do you any favors,” the critic wrote after Lambert shared a snap and video. “You are too beautiful to display the unattractive parts. I’m not a fan of leggings on anyone, actually. I’ve seen way more of a person’s business than I wanted to. 🐪.”

In response, Lambert sarcastically wrote, “Good to know! 😂 I’ll do better about displaying my ‘unattractive parts.’”

In a 2019 interview, Lambert shared her evolution toward body confidence. She explained that she doesn’t like being onstage worrying about her body — it’s the last thing she wants to be thinking about.

“I don’t give my best performance when I’m distracted by my insecurities,” Lambert said, per People. “I realized my weight is not in a scale; it’s in how I feel about myself. That gave me confidence to be like, ‘Whatever state you’re in, you’ve gotta rock it.’”
