A lot has changed in Miranda Lambert’s life since “Kerosene” first hit the airwaves in 2005, and the country music star has clearly enjoyed sharing some trips down memory lane with her fans this year. On May 13th, the singer took to Instagram to share a blast from the past that is as funny as it is relatable.
In the reel’s caption, Lambert explains that her mother encouraged her to blog about her early experiences on her official website. She then reads an excerpt from one of the blog entries. “I can’t believe the record was number one,” the singer reads. “It almost feels like all of this isn’t really happening. Everything is going so fast. I hope I don’t forget to enjoy it.”
Lambert Found Solace in a Box of Crayons

The beginning of the blog entry is heartwarming, especially in hindsight, but it gets funnier the more the singer keeps reading. After explaining that she was trying to find something to help her unwind, the 2005 version of Lambert wrote about how a trip to Walmart helped her find a new outlet when singing felt too much like a job. “I decided to go to Walmart and buy a coloring book and a 64-pack of crayons. That did the trick.” The singer laughingly went on to read that her younger self likened coloring to a new kind of therapy.
Unsurprisingly, fans are totally here for this relatable throwback, flocking to the comments section to reminisce about “Kerosene” and chuckle about the crayons comment. One fan even floated a new product idea: “This is my official request for you to release a Kerosene edition adult coloring book!”
The Singer Released ‘Kerosene’ on Vinyl Earlier This Year

In honor of “Kerosene’s” twentieth anniversary this year, Lambert released the album on vinyl for the first time ever. On April 25th, its official release date, the singer posted a photo on Instagram of the album’s cover, along with a heartfelt caption about what “Kerosene” has meant to her.
As she has shared on many occasions, the album served as a jumping-off point for all of the incredible success she has found in the music industry. “This album set me up for the 2 decades of music that followed it,” Lambert wrote in the post. “I still love it and am so proud of it. Thank y’all for loving it too.”
