Megan Moroney Shares Upcoming Album is “Probably Like 80% Written”

Megan Moroney is opening up her heart and giving a piece of it to her fans. The country music star is working on her next album and shared it is “probably like 80% written.”

As People reported, the “Am I Okay?” singer is opening up about all her highs and lows in her next musical body of work.

“I’m always writing. I mean, I would say that my next album is probably like 80% written,” Moroney told People on the red carpet at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 26.

“I just try to live my life and write about it. So that’s kind of how this next album is shaping up, too. Just like the last ones — I was writing about my life experiences. So the strategy behind it hasn’t changed. It’s still the same.”

Strength Within the Vulnerability in her Songs

The “Tennessee Orange” singer has been pouring her heart into her music as just last week she teased an unreleased song dedicated to her niece.

However, as People reported, the upcoming album is to be more light and carefree.

“I would say I’ve still got the emo cowgirl staples on there because it wouldn’t be a Megan Moroney album without some heart-wrenching thing, but I do think it’s lighter and it’s really fun,” Moroney told People.

The country singer said she has many songs on her phone she knows fans “are just going to freak out.”

Moroney, 27, shared there is strength in her sharing her vulnerability with fans.

“There’s definitely strength in being painfully honest, even if it’s hard to talk about whatever it is,” she said. “And I feel like I’ve got a fan base of younger girls that really look up to me. So if I can be the one that tells them it’s going to be okay, or I once felt this way and now I don’t — I think it’s brave, and I don’t feel weaker for it.”

Megan Moroney is on the Road

In 2023, Moroney released her debut album, “Lucky”. Now the “emo cowgirl” is touring her sophomore album “Am I Okay?”. The tour kicked off on March 20 and is to wrap up on Oct. 12. Fans are looking forward to hearing the singer live. With the announcement of her upcoming album being more than half way written, fans are looking forward to confiding within the singer’s heartfelt lyrics.
