Megan Moroney fans are counting down the days to hear her latest track featuring Kenny Chesney. The song is set to hit music streaming platforms this Friday, May 9.
Moroney took on her social media platforms on April 30 to announce the project.
In an instagram carousel post, Moroney included a sneak peek of the song. She captioned the post “‘7 years later got a different point of view…’ 💙🏟️🌴 YOU HAD TO BE THERE FT. KENNY CHESNEY OUT MAY 9TH.”
The post also featured a picture of Chesney playing a guitar and Moroney kicking her leg as they both stood on a boat, a screenshot of tickets to Chesney’s concert in 2018 and a photo of both singers standing side by side on a stage staring out at the crowd.
Chesney commented on the post “As far as I know this is the first song anyone has written for me. Thank you Megan. I love ya.”

Moroney joined Chesney in his “Sun Goes Down” 2024 tour. The artists have also shared with fans a glimpse of their friendship.
On April 25, the singers posted a video on TikTok where Moroney is introducing Chesney to the platform.
The new song was also featured in a TikTok post by Moroney. Two days after the announcement of the collaboration, Moroney posted a video of her and Chesney siting at a checkerboard table chatting it up. Moroney wrote on the video “when u haven’t seen Kenny in months & u have to update him on your life & all the new tea”.
Fans flooded the comment section as they shared their love for their friendship.
“This bestie duo healed me,” one person wrote.
Another fan wrote, “Pretty sure I’ve had dreams growing up that one day I would be in this exact position with Kenny Chesney as my best friend so at least one of us made it.”

Moroney released her debut album, “Lucky”, in 2023. The album is home to her most streamed song on Spotify “Tennessee Orange”, with over 360 million streams. She hit the road in support of her debut album.
In 2024, the singer’s sophomore album, “Am I Okay?”, was released. This year, she is back on the road in support of her album. The tour kicked off on March 20 and is to end Oct. 12.
