Luke Combs gave local Nashville fans several things to celebrate on Tuesday, April 15. As Whiskey Riff reported, the country music icon fully opened the bar, “Category 10,” with a celebration that included a concert. During the concert, Combs gave fans a taste of two new, unreleased songs.
Whiskey Riff shared a TikTok video of Combs performing one of the songs, and the crowd let out a loud cheer in response to the singer’s strong vocals. Combs also confirmed that he is currently working on studio album number six during the show.
Category 10 is a Massive Music Venue

As the Category 10 official website explains, Tuesday night’s Big Kickoff Concert was just the start of a week-long celebration in honor of the bar’s opening. The festivities were also set to include more live music and other fun events, such as a “Luke”-a-like contest that offered a cash prize. Partnering with Opry Entertainment Group to open a venue would keep anyone busy, and Category 10 was certainly a massive undertaking for the group and Combs.
Speaking with Nashville Lifestyles back in January 2024, Combs explained part of the vision behind Category 10: “We are building a spot where we can put on a high-level touring act show one night and a songwriter showcase the next.” Indeed, the massive venue boasts five sections, including a sports bar, an outdoor deck, and several stages.
The Songs Combs Shared at Category 10 are Just the Beginning

Combs released Fathers & Sons in June 2024, following an ongoing trend of releasing new albums within a year or two of each other. Although he hasn’t revealed any official album release details as of this publication, Tuesday night’s preview of new music is just one of the signs that he’ll be dropping a record sooner rather than later. As Music Alley reported, Combs also debuted another unreleased track, “Wish Upon A Whiskey,” back in January 2025. The singer performed the song live for a Sydney, Australia audience.
While appearing on the Meateater Podcast in April 2025, Combs shared that he has a jaw-dropping number of potential songs for a new album. “I would say right now, I mean, songs that are in serious contention to make the record…40 to 50. You’ve got to whittle it down.” However, as Combs pointed out, he may not need to cut as far into that number of songs as he might have in past decades to put out a new album. The singer went on to say that digital albums and streaming have made it possible for artists to put out longer records than they could have in the days of CDs.
