Lainey Wilson Has Something in Common With The Beatles

You may not readily associate country music star Lainey Wilson with The Beatles, but the two acts now have something in common. In a YouTube video Wilson shared in April 2025, the singer talks about her song, “Bell Bottoms Up,” and treats fans to a sneak peek of her stepping into history by recording it at Abbey Road Studios in London.

If that name sounds familiar to you, it’s likely because of The Beatles. Their 1969 album, “Abbey Road,” features a photo of the band walking across the famed street, which was right outside the recording studio they frequently used. As London Walks reported, the studio was called EMI. After the release of the album, studio owners changed the name to Abbey Road Studios, and that now-iconic name has been in place ever since.

Around the same time Wilson posted her sneak peek to YouTube, Abbey Road Studios shared an extended video in which Wilson talks about how she came to record the song at the historical studio. As the singer explains, the recording session came together in a rather serendipitous way. She and her band were trying to determine how to get the song recorded, and they had some shows planned for London. Being in close proximity to the studio made it a natural fit.

In describing how it felt to record in the studio, Wilson showed a clear reverence for Abbey Road’s history. “[It was] incredible, you know?” she said. “So, I think everybody was feeling it this morning when we got to just walk around and see everywhere the magic was made.”

“Bell Bottoms Up” is Her Bar’s Theme Song

Of course, the “Bell Bottoms Up” name isn’t just limited to Wilson’s 2025 hit; it’s also the name of her recently opened Nashville bar. When speaking to Abbey Road Studios, Wilson shared the significance of the name.

“For the longest time, I’ve said, if I had a bar in Nashville, I wanted it to be called, ‘Bell Bottoms Up,'” she said. “Because I’m absolutely obsessed with bell bottoms, and, we like to call the music that we play ‘Bell Bottom Country.'” As Wilson also shared, the track she recorded at Abbey Road Studios will be the bar’s theme song.
