On April 12, 2025, drive-thru staff at a Dairy Queen in Cotulla, Texas, were in for a huge surprise. As Country Now reported, what started as a normal day turned into a celebrity sighting when a familiar-looking man pulled up to their window in a large truck. As one worker determined, that man was none other than country music legend and Texas native George Strait. Not only was he kind to the starstruck workers, but he even posed for a photo with one of them.
That lucky staff member, Becky, later posted the photo on TikTok. In the photo, the singer smiles from his truck while Becky grins ear to ear from inside the drive-thru. In the comments section, Becky shared more details about the lead-up to the photo. “He’s so handsome and polite,” she wrote. “I asked him a few questions before I went in for the ‘Can we take a selfie?'”
Strait is a Regular at the Local Dairy Queen

It may be hard to imagine that celebrities frequent fast food joints, but this wasn’t Strait’s first appearance at the local restaurant. As Becky told Country Now, Strait is a regular at her Dairy Queen location. She also described how it felt to meet him. “He was very friendly and very polite… It was an amazing experience to have met him,” she said. “We got a free meet and greet. He has stopped here before, but I had never been there. I was lucky to have met him that day.”
During her conversation with Country Now, the Dairy Queen employee also answered a question that was on everyone’s mind: What did Strait order? As Becky shared, the country star opted for a Hunger-buster combo. This menu item lives up to its name, including a drink, fries, its namesake burger, and even a sundae.
The Singer Has a 2025 Stadium Tour Planned With Chris Stapleton

The next phase of Strait’s incredible career is taking him back on tour in June 2025. As George Strait’s official website shared, the crooner plans to play five stadium shows alongside fellow singer Chris Stapleton. Parker McCollum will also appear for four of the performances, while Little Big Town will be in attendance for the final show in Inglewood, California.
However, this isn’t the first time Strait and Stapleton have co-headlined stadiums; back in 2023, Strait’s website shared details about a similar tour featuring the two singers. That tour extended into 2024, with nine additional shows featuring Little Big Town at stadiums around the country.
