Dolly Parton’s Luxurious Cabin is Up for Sale

You could own one of Dolly Parton‘s homes, and you don’t even need millions of dollars to buy it! In fact, compared to the typical celebrity home, you can get this one for a song!

Here’s the backstory. In 2023, Dolly donated her rustic mountain cabin in Southern California to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. The charity sold it for $585,000 less than a year ago. Now the cozy cabin is back on the market for a listing price of $768,000.

Dolly Parton’s Former Retreat Still Holds Many Personal Possessions

The 1,800-square-foot cabin is nestled in the woods of the picturesque mountain town of Idyllwild in Southern California’s Riverside County. Described as an “artist’s retreat,” the property remains full of personal touches Dolly placed there herself. The listing reads, “If walls could sing, this charming 3-story mountain retreat would be humming a country tune. Recently owned by the one and only Dolly Parton, this home is as full of character as the Queen of Country herself. Nearly every piece of decor was placed by Dolly, making this a rare opportunity to own a home that reflects her warmth, charm, and signature style.”

That reportedly includes furnishings and decor handpicked by the Queen of Country. It even includes quirky touches like a guitar-shaped toilet seat cover and even a signed photo.

The listing says the cabin, while secluded, is a short walk to town. It features wood-beamed ceilings and huge windows that highlight the gorgeous surroundings. And the living room’s fireplace is built around a massive granite boulder.

Mountain Retreat Used By Dolly and Those She Loved Most

Dolly Parton purchased the cabin in 2000 for $235,000 according to Riverside County property records. It was built in 1966.

According to the “San Francisco Chronicle,” Dolly and her late husband Carl Dean used the cabin as a getaway while Dolly worked in Hollywood on movies like “9 to 5” and other projects. The paper also says Dolly’s mother Avie Lee liked to spend time there.

The listing says that the cabin’s loft was one of Dolly’s favorite places to write music.

Raridon writes, “Locals still share fond memories of Dolly’s time in Idyllwild, where she was known for her kindness and down-to-earth spirit. This is more than a home- it’s a piece of music history, a true mountain retreat, and a dream getaway waiting for its next storyteller.”

“Owning a home with such a rich history is a rare opportunity,” Raridon said in a statement. “Dolly was a beloved part of the Idyllwild community, known for her warmth, generosity, and deep love for the mountains.”
