Powerhouse singers Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have fans singing along to their new duet called “A Song to Sing.”
The pair posted the lyric video of their new collab on YouTube Friday, July 11 and nearly 350,000 jumped at the chance to listen in the first 24 hours.
According to a press release, Lambert and Stapleton wrote the song alongside Jesse Frasure and five-time CMA Musician of the Year fiddle player Jenee Fleenor.
The subject-matter is said to be heavily influenced by Chris Stapleton’s real-life love story with his wife and touring partner Morgane Stapleton.
“Chris understands this emotion from the inside out, because he and Morgane have both lived it,” Lambert says in the press release. “To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life – and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level. When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”
Chris Stapleton & Miranda Lambert Have Never Released a Duet Before
While Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton are old friends, they’ve never released a single together before.
But they’ve worked together many times. The pair wrote Stapleton’s hit “What Am I Gonna Do?” together, and have performed it live.
They also teamed up in 2021 to perform “Maggie’s Song” from Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe for the 2021 ACM Awards. The song is a tribute to Stapleton’s dog.
But “A Song to Sing” represents the first time they’ve dropped a single together. It’s also Miranda Lambert’s first new music since her 2024 release of “Postcards from Texas.”
It’s a Busy Summer for Miranda Lambert & Chris Stapleton
Both Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton are spending their summers on the road. And while they’re touring, they’ll be teaming up with other big names in country music.
Miranda Lambert is joining Morgan Wallen at various stops on his “I’m the Problem Tour.”
Meanwhile, Chris Stapleton’s 2025 All-American Roadshow will keep him on the road through the summer and into fall.
The schedule includes several stadium shows with the legendary George Strait.
Stapleton has already performed four shows with Strait and has one more to come at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles July 19.
Miranda Lambert Turns Focus to Helping Texas Flooding Victims
Meanwhile, Texas-native Miranda Lambert has also turned her focus to helping with relief efforts after the devastating and deadly flooding there.
The singer has put up a series of posts on her Instagram account about how her pet charity Mutt Nation is helping flood victims be reunited with their lost pets.
She’s asking fans in other parts of the country to help by fostering pets displaced by the flooding. Miranda writes that shelters all over the country are taking pets from Texas shelters to make room for pets who got separated from their owners in the flooding. She says many shelters are in urgent need of fosters.
