Fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for Idol alum Scotty McCreery to confirm details about his new collab, and the country music star finally gave them what they wanted yesterday. McCreery took to Instagram to post a reel that put the mystery to rest: he’s teaming up with beloved ’90s band Hootie & The Blowfish.
The reel includes an original music video clip from the group’s smash hit single, “Hold My Hand.” As McCreery shared in the post’s caption, the Collab, “Bottle Rockets,” officially drops this Thursday, May 15th. Unsurprisingly, many fans were very excited about this announcement, and they didn’t hold back from sharing their feelings.
McCreery Fans are Totally Here for This Collab

Although McCreery and Hootie & The Blowfish may not seem like an immediately obvious pairing, fans are clearly excited for the release of “Bottle Rockets.” Netizens flooded the comments section of McCreery’s Instagram post with fire emojis, and many shared strong positive opinions about the collab.
“Definitely the song of Summer 2025!” one fan predicted, saying that they can’t wait to hear the full track. Several other fans also shared their beliefs that the song will be a huge success after its release, and expressed their love for both acts. One particularly excited fan even called the upcoming track their “dream collab.” Hootie & The Blowfish also responded to the announcement in the comments section, simply writing: “We can’t wait!”
The Singer is Touring in the UK and US This Summer

In addition to this new collab, country music fans in the UK can also get their McCreery fix as part of his 2025 summer tour. The singer has five shows scheduled between May 24th and May 30th, starting in Belfast and ending in London. As Everything Nash shared, McCreery said the shows come courtesy of popular demand. “We’ve had so many e-mails and social media posts from fans asking us to return,” the singer said in a tour announcement. “I’m happy to say ‘we’re coming!’”
For US fans, there will also be plenty of opportunities to see McCreery perform this summer. The American Idol winner will be on the road for the better part of June, July, and August in cities across the country.
