Alan Jackson has had an incredible country music career, but it will soon be coming to an end. In a video the singer shared on X, Jackson explained that he’s hanging up his guitar to focus on family and being home more often. In honor of his upcoming retirement, the singer headed out on a farewell tour.
Now, “Last Call: One More For The Road” is winding down, with a final show planned for May 17, 2025. The lucky city to host that final concert? Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jackson promised to play songs from across his three decades-long career, and has made good on that promise during this tour. As Setlist.FM shared, some of the most commonly played songs from the tour have been “Little Bitty,” “Gone Country,” and “Remember When,” among other top hits.
The Tour Has Undoubtedly Been an Emotional Experience For Jackson — And Fans

After 30 years of touring, this farewell run has undoubtedly been bittersweet for Jackson. In a video Country Cast shared in March 2025, the singer had his emotions on full display during a performance of his song, “Drive.” As he explained to the crowd, he wrote the song for his father. The singer said that he was inspired by thinking about his youth, and driving was something he and his father bonded over during that time.
Unsurprisingly, both he and the audience were on the verge of tears during the song’s last chorus. Die-hard fans are sure to also be overcome with emotion at his May 17th show, which starts in the evening at Fiserv Forum.
Zach Top Will Help Close Out The Final Show

As Jackson has wound his way around the U.S. for his last tour, he hasn’t been alone; fellow artist Zach Top has joined him for the 2025 shows. As Music Mayhem shared on Facebook, Top was slotted to open for Jackson at five different concerts, including his final upcoming show in Milwaulkee.
The two artists stylistically have a lot in common, and Top has listed Jackson among his major influences. In an interview with CMT from January 2025, Top called said: “[Jackson is] a big musical hero, obviously. There’s not many people left alive that I would be starstruck by. He is one of them.”
For Jackson’s final performance, James Carothers will join the pair as an additional opening act. As Saving Country Music reported, the singer-songwriter has become a regular fixture at Jackson’s Nashville bar, “AJ’s Good Time Bar,” in recent years.
