Briana Culberson may have stepped away from reality TV, but she’s never stopped living a life worth watching. The daughter of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Vicki Gunvalson has kept fans updated through candid Instagram posts that offer a heartfelt look at life beyond Bravo.
Now living on a farm in Oklahoma with her husband Ryan Culberson and their children — Troy, Owen, Hank, and Cora Rose — Briana is reflecting on everything she’s been through and how far she’s come. From hospital shifts and Lupus flare-ups to youth sports and international wellness retreats, she’s built a life that’s grounded in family, healing, and purpose.
Briana Culberson’s Life as a Mom and Wife
Briana and Ryan have been married for 13 years. Old school fans will remember that they eloped and told her mom about on camera.
In June, she celebrated his 41st birthday with a sweet message and a photo of the two posing in front of a floral backdrop on her Instagram. “Life is so fun and spontaneous with you,” she wrote, joking that he doesn’t “look (or act!) a day over 21.” Their playful bond was on display last year, too, when Ryan posted his own tribute to Briana’s 37th birthday, joking, “I did my best to lasso her the moon.”
But life with four kids is rarely all flowers and moon lassos. Between school, sports, and everyday chaos, Briana is fully immersed in motherhood — and loving it. She often shares updates about her kids’ activities, including a recent post showing sons Troy and Owen on the baseball field. “Tweens in the wild!” she wrote. “Troy plays shortstop and Owen’s third base so it was only a matter of time.”
The boys also play basketball and football, and Briana proudly documented Owen’s championship season last fall when his team won the Indian Nations Football Conference. “So proud,” she captioned the family photo from the big day — one of many she’s shared as her kids grow up right before fans’ eyes.
Through it all, Briana keeps her mindset focused and positive. She recently shared an audio clip that she described as something she wants for her morning alarm: “You don’t just exist, you (expletive) shine. So pick that head up and don’t let anyone dim your light today. You’re a walking masterpiece. Now go act like it.”
The ‘RHOC’ Alum Has Started a New Chapter in Her Health and Career
Briana’s outward optimism is hard-won. Diagnosed with Lupus in 2016, she’s been open about how deeply the autoimmune disease affected her mental and physical well-being. On her social media, the mom of four also shares numerous healthy, whole-food recipes, as well as travel tips for busy moms. In May, she posted a raw Instagram reel showing photos from different phases of her journey, including time in the hospital and quiet moments with her family.
“Too many years of hating myself,” she wrote in the caption. “Too many years of identifying with my illness… not wanting to wake up in the morning… I feel like I’ve been given a second chance and a new life filled with hope, and there’s no going backwards now.”
Part of that new life includes a total career pivot. After leaving her job as an ER nurse, Briana began working with wellness company Young Living Essential Oils in 2022. That opportunity recently took her across the world to Bali, where she and Ryan attended a corporate retreat for top-performing brand partners.
“It took 34 hours to get here from Oklahoma, but from what I can see so far (even in the dark), it’s so worth it,” she wrote from their suite at the Ayana Resort. “Blessed and grateful.”
She called the trip “unreal,” reflecting on how far she’s come in just a few years. “To think, 3.5 years ago I was stuck in fight or flight, overworked, missing much of my kids’ lives… sick, sad, and miserable. Now I’m on a work trip in Bali with my coworker/bff.”
Briana and Ryan found their forever home after more than a decade of moving — 12 times in 12 years, she revealed in a 2023 BravoTV.com interview. After trying out both of their home states, North Carolina and Illinois, they ultimately returned to Oklahoma, where they were stationed years earlier. “It’s where our second son was born,” she said, adding that it finally felt right.
