Teresa Giudice is pulling back the curtain on what really went down before Bravo hit pause on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” The longtime star revealed the fateful call she received about the show’s status while also accusing some castmates of plotting against her husband, Luis Ruelas, ahead of season 14.
Teresa Giudice Opens Up About Bravo’s Shocking Call
Speaking on her “Turning The Tables” podcast, Giudice admitted that things felt off when the usual post-reunion process never happened.
“Right after reunion — we didn’t even have a reunion [last season] — we get a call, usually right after that, we get a letter [saying] you’re coming back or you’re not,” Giudice explained. “We didn’t get a letter [that year]. I think they called us.”
According to reports, Bravo wasn’t thrilled with how divided the cast had become, with several stars outright refusing to film together. The tension boiled over after Margaret Josephs admitted she had communicated with Ruelas’ ex off-camera, which added fuel to the already fiery season.
RHONJ OG Claims the Attacks Against Her Controversial Husband Were ‘Calculated’
Giudice also accused certain costars of banding together to target Ruelas, claiming there was a strategy to take him down.
She alleged the group’s behavior felt “calculated,” pointing to Josephs’ ongoing digs at Ruelas since his marriage to Giudice in 2022. Ruelas has publicly defended himself multiple times, escalating the feud even further.
“No,” she said. “There’s no strategizing … With me, what you see is what you get. I don’t go in being strategic. Maybe that’s my problem, but it’s not really my problem because I think I’ve done pretty good so far … I’m not calculated. I really am myself, and I don’t go in with a plan.”
“I know other cast members, they do go in with a plan. They are calculated, they do their research and … talk to people that they shouldn’t be talking to and try to hurt, for instance, myself and my husband,” she said. “They knew to get to me, they [needed] to hurt my husband. And that’s what they did.”
The family drama also played into the tension, as Giudice’s relationship with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga remained fractured.
Andy Cohen Confirms RHONJ Was On a ‘Deep Pause’
In June, Andy Cohen addressed the franchise’s future on “The View,” telling fans the network is currently recasting and exploring what’s next.
“We are doing casting on ‘Jersey,’” Cohen confirmed. “It was really on a deep pause and we are actively there casting and looking at the future of what that will be.”
He assured fans that Bravo isn’t abandoning the Garden State wives. “It’s a great franchise and we love it,” he emphasized.
Cohen previously revealed last July that Bravo would be doing “something different” with RHONJ after its unconventional reunion and explosive season 14 finale. By August, reports suggested the show wouldn’t resume filming until sometime in 2025.
