Teddi Mellencamp is not yet done with her immunotherapy treatments for her melanoma, and she is reaching out to fans for help in combating “severe anxiety.”
In a vulnerable Instagram reel shared on August 14, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star asked, “For anybody who’s gone through immunotherapy, what did you do to help combat the severe anxiety that takes over sometimes? Or any other advice to help yourself feel a bit better?”
“OK, for those of y’all who have gone through immunotherapy, did you have severe anxiety just on random days for no apparent reason?” she inquired.
Mellencamp said, “Today, I was able to walk. I did the podcast. Now I’m just sitting here full of anxiety. Is it common? What are things you guys have done to help make you feel better?”
“Let me know. Looking for any positive advice. Thank you,” she shared.
One fan replied, “Can you take magnesium glycinate? That’s been a huge help with my daughter.” Another advised, “Weekly therapy, cold plunging, meditation, vitamins, antihistamines, or L-Theanine are non addictive and help you relax.”
An Instagram user shared, “What helped me physically was walking at least 2 miles a day. I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day and surround myself with positivity! Mindset is so important, keep pushing through it does get better!!”
Mellencamp Admitted To Feeling Down After Brandon Blackstock’s Passing
Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock’s cause of death was revealed to have been from melanoma — the same cancer Mellencamp is treating.
During an August 13 episode of “Two Teas in a Pod,” the mom of three told her co-host Tamra Judge, “The Brandon Blackstock story really hit me hard this week.”
“I wish I would have missed that little detail in the World Wide Web because then I started doing research and they were so quiet about … I mean, we know he passed from melanoma,” Mellencamp said.
Blackstock’s diagnosis had Mellencamp wondering what types of treatments he had undergone. “Maybe he did immunotherapy? Maybe he did chemotherapy? We don’t know. I don’t know, but those kinds of stories hit you hard when it directly sound similar to something that you’re going through,” she shared.
Mellencamp Reveals Her Future ‘RHOBH’ Status
Mellencamp is prioritizing her health over reality television for now. During an interview with People on August 11, she was asked about a possible return to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
“Yeah, no. I don’t have the bandwidth for it right now. I’m not somebody that likes to do something when I can’t be good at it,” she said.
The podcaster shared, “I feel like my words are a little stuttery sometimes, and it doesn’t mean I’m telling a lie. Some people have to relearn to talk after having these surgeries that I had. The fact that I can do as much as I can do, I’m so blessed for. But it still happens to me, and some days are very bad.”
“Some days, I’m just stumbling word over word. And I would hate to be on a show like that and have somebody think that I was not being honest and really I was just struggling,” Mellencamp admitted.
Back in May, the avid equestrian caused a stir when she hinted at a new season of “RHOBH.” When asked by “RHONJ” star Dolores Catania on “Two Ts in a Pod” if she’d be on the roster, Mellencamp said, “I have no idea. No clue.”
“If I’m lucky, more of what’s happening right now can happen to me, and then you guys can all see it play out. But, truly, I have no idea,” she teased.
