Madison LeCroy Explains Newfound Friendship With Her Ex Austen Kroll

Madison LeCroy opened up about her friendship with her former boyfriend Austen Kroll.  

In a December 2024 interview, the  “Southern Charm” star admitted to Us Weekly that three years ago she never would have dreamed that she’d have a friendly relationship with her ex. While LeCroy admitted she probably wouldn’t be talking with Kroll much if not for the cameras, she added, “I will say we should have always just been friends. Like It just fits you know?”

“Like I think of him as like I do one of my girlfriends,” LeCroy explained. “Like, we just have that banter. He loves the beauty advice, the hair, the makeup. He is very involved in that, so yeah. I mean it’s crazy to believe that we actually are friends now.”

LeCroy and Kroll dated on and off for two years before calling it quits in 2020 amid infidelity allegations. At the time, LeCroy told Us Weekly, “We are not together right now. I am 1,000 percent single, and so is he.”

Months later, LeCroy began dating Brett Randle after meeting him during a trip to Arizona. The two were engaged in October 2021 and they married in November 2022.

Kroll has been dating Audrey Pratt since 2023, according to BravoTV.com. During a “Southern Charm” season 10 episode, he admitted it was a “big step” to refer to anyone as his girlfriend. “It’s still weird to tell people, like, ‘Hey, this is my girlfriend. This is my girlfriend, Audrey,’” he said. “You know, for me definitely it is a big step.”

LeCroy told Us that she approves of Kroll’s new lady. “She’s sweet, she’s very sweet,” LeCroy said. “And we joke around because he’s like, ‘Madison I think I found my Brett.’ And I was like, ‘Okay let’s not push it.’ But she is more reserved, she’s quiet. I have nothing but good things to say about her.”

This isn’t the first time LeCroy admitted that Kroll wasn’t a good romantic partner for her. In a December 2024 interview on Dear Media’s “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast, she told co-hosts Lauryn & Michael Bosstick that she never considered Kroll as her future husband and wished they’d just stayed friends.

“I mean, honestly we had a friendship,” she said. “We should have just stuck with that, I guess.”

Of her now-cordial relationship with Kroll, LeCroy noted, “I think that like for me it’s one of those things being newly married and people see me hanging around an ex, they assume that like, I’m doing this just because I wanna go hang out with them. But I’m getting paid to be here and have this conversation and be in the same room. So that’s what we’re doing.”
