“Below Deck Down Under” star Harry van Vliet wooed third stew Brianna Duffield early on in season 3, and while their romance was a slow burn at first, they were officially a couple by the time they left the boat.
Ultimately, after leaving together, van Vliet and Duffield ended their relationship. “Bri and I went our separate ways a few months after filming ended,” the lead deckhand told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
He added, “We traveled a bit, but then we had a difficult time with the long-distance relationship.”
However, the two still maintain a relationship and van Vliet told the outlet, “We are still friends and in contact to this day.”
As for Duffield, she shared, “After traveling the world together, Harry and I remain great friends. We keep in contact and he gives me great travel recommendations (outside of hostels).”
Duffield & van Vliet Went on a Worldwide Adventure After ‘BBDU’
Duffield revealed in May that while she and van Vliet were not together anymore, they made good on their plan to go sightseeing.
“We traveled the whole world together,” she said on “Another Below Deck Podcast.”
Duffield shared, “We went on an African safari, we did Dubai, he met my dad in Dubai, we did Philly, we did Nashville, we did Europe, Monaco.”
She revealed that Philly was one of her favorite cities to show van Vliet around, during which they saw a Phillies game and visited a sports bar where the deckhand rode a mechanical bull. “It was a scene,” Duffield said.
Duffield Revealed How van Vliet Is Different From Other Guys She’s Dated
Despite not working out with van Vliet, Duffield has only good things to say about him. “Harry is definitely not the kind of guy I typically have dated in the past. He just was so charming,” she told Collider in May.
He was so kind and gentle and at the end of the day, when you’re looking for a long-term relationship, you want someone like Harry. You want someone who’s going to be kind, respectful, share your feelings, laugh with you,” Duffield continued.
On her dating preferences, she said, “I definitely love a nice guy. I love a guy who can come around my family and just check back with us and enjoy, but I do like a little bit of a bad boy — I mean, who doesn’t?”
Reflecting on her attraction to van Vliet, Duffield told Collider, “We started as friends at first, but then it was like wow, we have the same energy, like both little Golden Retrievers. And then things kind of escalated. We have very similar personalities. We’re both positive and I just love being around positive people. That’s why I gravitated toward Harry.”
