“Southern Charm” alum Cameran Eubanks is addressing rumors that she will be returning to the show. Eubanks took to her Instagram stories to set the record straight after an article posted on social media claimed she would be back on the hit Bravo series.
“Woke up to tons of DM’s about a Facebook article saying that I am coming back to ‘Southern Charm.’ NOT TRUE,” Eubanks, 41, wrote. She went on to call attention to the use of AI in spreading false information via social media.
“These Facebook articles are written by AI and are not a credible source of information!” the reality TV vet continued. The word “False” was written in large text along with her explanation.
Eubanks Has Shut Down Rumors Before
Eubanks made her reality TV debut at age 19 on MTV’s “The Real World: San Diego” in 2004, and appeared on the first 6 seasons of “Southern Charm” beginning in 2014. When she exited the series in 2020, she did so amid rumors about her marriage to Jason Wimberly.
“I was going to make a kind statement about why I decided to leave the show tomorrow,” Eubanks wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “However, it has come to my attention that insidious rumors are now spreading and fake articles are being written … some of which pertain to my marriage.”
Eubanks went on to explain that whispers of her husband having an affair were “upsetting” but she’d expected as much, writing, “this is what reality television has come to nowadays and a large reason why I kept my marriage off air.”
She continued, “You must protect what is sacred to you. Some things aren’t worth a big paycheck.”
Eubanks Turned Down Another Reality TV Gig
In 2022, Eubanks shared that she’d been asked to participate in a season of MTV’s “The Challenge” but chose to turn down the offer.
“They asked me to do the last ‘Challenge’ that they did, but unfortunately [you] had to commit to being gone for six weeks,” she told Us Weekly, explaining that she didn’t want to spend that much time away from her daughter Palmer, now 7 years old.
Eubanks, author of the 2021 book, “One Day You’ll Thank Me: Essays on Dating, Motherhood, and Everything In Between,” seems to be done with reality TV. “If I was to ever go back on television, it would have to be something boring that didn’t involve fighting or having to talk about people,” she revealed before adding, “It would have to be a whole different — no, I couldn’t do it.”
