‘Below Deck’ Fans React to the Chaotic Season 12 Premiere: Lost Luggage, Stressed Chef, & a Black Light

Season 12 of “Below Deck” debuted on June 2, and the episode was filled with drama, which had fans talking.

Captain Kerry Titheradge returned as the head of the boat, and he immediately told the crew, “The way I manage, is that I’m very firm, but I’m fair with everybody. But don’t take my kindness for weakness.”

Despite his warning, the first big mistake that the crew made was forgetting to bring the charter guests’ luggage on board, which had Titheradge scrambling to retrieve them.

“They left the charters luggage on the dock?!?! It’s the FIRST charter!” a fan tweeted. Another posted a photo of “Below Deck” veteran Eddie Lucas and wrote, “You know who wouldn’t have left the luggage behind?!”

Another point of contention was Chef Lawrence Snowden, who was new to the “Below Deck” franchise, and despite his initial calm demeanor, started stressing out over being filmed.

“Chef is already freaking out. And he’s done. Hope Captain has some other chefs lined up,” a viewer wrote. Another shared, “I’m OBSESSED with how much Cheffy hates the cameras.”

Later in the episode, the primary charter guest showed up with a black light and checked the cabin for germs.

“These charter guests have a long list of complaints. They should just go to bed,” a fan quipped.

Fraser Olender Teased Much Drama For ‘Below Deck’ Season 12

According to chief stew Fraser Olender, “Below Deck” season 12 will be full of lots of ups and downs. “There are firings. There are hirings. There are disasters left, right and center. But I cannot tell you enough how dramatic and how fun this season is. It is nonstop,” he told Us Weekly on June 2.

“I was so excited to get into this season. I think I’ve grown so much since I first started out on the show — and you never know what you’re going to get as a crew,” Olender shared.

He continued, “But I just wanted to make sure that out of any season, this one is where I wanted to bring my crew to the best of their ability. I wanted harmony and I wanted love and friendship and peace amongst all the madness. I think we succeeded.”

There’s also an incident during season 12 where the authorities get involved. “You haven’t seen this yet, but I had to go speak to the local police in French to deal with the situation. It was a lot,” Olender told Decider.

“It was nuts. I was almost embarrassed to discuss the issue we were having with the police. But you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to make it work in these waters,” the reality star shared.

However, Olender added, “I’m very grateful and happy to be here. I know what’s required of me and the rest I just roll with. There’s always going to be drama, but at least I know, or I feel like I know, how to do the job.”
