Liam Payne will grace the screen one final time. In a bittersweet moment for fans, Netflix has released the first full trailer for “Building the Band“, featuring the late singer’s final TV appearance.
Payne filmed the series as a judge shortly before his tragic death at age 31 last October, following a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

The series, which premieres July 9, brings together aspiring singers hoping to form the next great music band, with a twist. Contestants audition one another from behind closed booths — think a little The Voice, a little Love Is Blind — with no idea who they’ll be teaming up with.

Liam Payne’s Family Supports His Final Netflix Appearance and Tribute
According to a report on Yahoo, Netflix confirmed that Payne’s family has reviewed the entire series and given their blessing for its release.
Last month, a source told The Sun: “Liam was on great form at filming so everyone’s pleased fans will get to see the ‘real’ him one last time. It will be bittersweet when the show is released. Netflix have gone out of their way to make sure his family are happy. Producers sent them the footage so they are fully aware of what to expect and they have given it their blessing.”
Netflix also confirmed that filming was completed before Payne’s passing, and the tone of the final cut was shaped closely in consultation with his family.
Liam Payne, remembered as a beloved member of One Direction, leaves behind a lasting legacy with this final performance. Officials ruled his cause of death as “polytrauma,” or multiple traumatic injuries, after his fall in October.

“Building the Band” premieres July 9, with four episodes launching initially, followed by weekly installments.
The show’s official synopsis reads: “Building the Band brings together talented singers for a truly unique competition show where building the perfect band is all about chemistry. The singers are in complete control as they seek to form their very own bands in individual ‘booths’ without ever seeing each other.”
“All they have to go on is musical compatibility, connection, chemistry, and merit. What will happen when the bands finally meet, and looks, choreography, and style come into play? Now, fans will have one more chance to celebrate his talent and spirit when “Building the Band” debuts next month.
