‘Big Brother’ Season 27 Episode 8 Live Recap & HOH Spoilers

Warning: Spoilers for Season 27 of “Big Brother” ahead. Read at your own risk!

Last time on “Big Brother,” the second eviction of the summer took place live. After five total nominations, Jimmy’s tumultuous HOH finally came to a close with Amy’s departure from the house.

The insurance agent from Stockton, California acted as the “accomplice” to this season’s mysterious puppet master, “The Mastermind,” only officially becoming the 17th houseguest after successfully keeping her true identity a secret.

The houseguests were initially divided on who to evict, but after Adrian saved himself through the BB Blockbuster, the vote against Amy was unanimous. Even Amy’s closest allies, Rachel and Ashley, opted to vote with the majority.

Will Amy’s exit warning to target Jimmy impact the power structure in the house? And who will win the third HOH of the season? Follow this live recap to find out!

July 27 Live Recap

8:05 p.m: Amy leaves the house. Rachel, her fellow “Mom Squad” member and former final two, is really upset about having to evict her closest ally to stay under the radar. But it may have actually done the opposite, as Lauren clocks that Rachel evicting her own alliance member is incredibly shady.

Lauren may have a point, as we see that, prior to Amy’s eviction, Rachel offered Ava a final two deal.

Meanwhile, Keanu is incredibly satisfied with Jimmy’s messy HOH reign, and tries to get Adrian to celebrate with him. But Adrian hasn’t forgotten about Keanu’s scheming against Will last week, and he and Zach aren’t really on Keanu’s side anymore.

Cracks are also forming on the other side of the house, as Morgan and Mickey aren’t happy with Jimmy for forcing them to evict one of their allies. Amy’s final warning about Jimmy being a “snake” is starting to sink in.

8:15 p.m: The HOH competition begins. Houseguests are shown incredibly detailed witness interviews about outlandish crimes, and must correctly answer true/false questions about what was said to remain in the competition.

It all comes down to Mickey and Lauren, and… Lauren wins! She is the next HOH.

8:25 p.m: Lauren’s HOH win has a lot of the house on edge. She’s been laying low for the past couple weeks, and nobody really knows what she’ll do.

Mickey is worried about she and Ashley’s safety; Lauren is friends with Katherine, and Katherine and Ashley haven’t gotten along since #showergate during week one. Morgan and Zach theorize that she’ll nominate Keanu and Kelley as to not rock the boat too much, but everyone is unsure about possible replacement nominees.

Vince goes to Lauren, with whom he has a final two deal, and encourages her to play her own game – not Katherine’s. Jimmy joins the conversation, and the three throw Keanu, Kelley and Adrian’s names out as nominees for the week.

8:30 p.m: Now that he knows Lauren isn’t thinking about nominating Mickey or Ashley, Jimmy goes to Mickey to tell her as much. He wants to get back in her good graces after Amy’s eviction, but Mickey isn’t entirely convinced that he actually has Lauren in his pocket like he says he does.

Rachel is also worried about being a target, and considers returning to her ruthless BB13 roots.

8:45 p.m: Keanu meets with Lauren to plead his case. Lauren isn’t really hearing him out – he is “public enemy no. 1” at the moment and it would be the safest option for her to nominate him.

Ashley and Mickey are the next to come to her, encouraging Lauren to honor Jimmy’s original nominations and target Keanu. While Lauren is more visibly receptive to the girls than she was with Keanu, Mickey is considering activating her power (which allows her to steal the HOH) in order to guarantee her safety.

8:50 p.m: Lauren is looking for pawns to go up against Keanu. Yet again, Kelley offers herself up as a pawn. This is the third time she has done this in just the first three weeks of the season!

Lauren is also considering Will as a second pawn, as he is well liked by everyone in the house. Unlike Kelley, Will is very resistant to the idea of being a pawn. As the oldest person in the game, he doesn’t want to be nominated as a pawn every week.

9:00 p.m: The nomination ceremony takes place. Lauren nominates Keanu, Kelley and Will.

Next time, we’ll find out which houseguest will win the Power of Veto. Will Lauren’s nominations remain the same? Look out for the next “Big Brother” Season 27 recap!
