Ryan Seacrest might be on a summer break from hosting “American Idol” and “Wheel of Fortune“, but his fitness routine is still in full swing. On Aug. 11, the 50-year-old TV host gave fans a glimpse into his vacation workout, posting a shirtless Instagram video of himself doing resistance training in the ocean.
Seacrest Shows Off Bold Ocean Resistance Workout in Cheetah Print Shorts
Dressed only in a pair of bold cheetah print shorts, Seacrest wrote: “My summer resistance training — the sea resists me and it’s winning,”
He also tagged Mind-Body Performance coach Dodd Romero for his “creativity and commitment.”
A Workout Like No Other

The montage showed Seacrest holding dumbbells while tackling lateral raises, front raises, squats, and even underwater lunges. The waves provided natural resistance, making the exercises both challenging and unconventional.
Fans were quick to praise the host’s dedication, with comments ranging from “Amazing!!! Way to keep it going! I’m ready to try this one too,” to “Beats going to the gym! Looks like fun🏋️💪”
A third comment read: “@ryanseacrest – a very good workout!! Looking great – getting in good shape for the new Wheel of Fortune Season :).”
His Fitness & Diet Secrets
Seacrest has been open about his approach to health. Speaking to GQ in December 2023, he revealed that he mixes weights, cardio, and box jumps into his regular routine.
When it comes to diet, he told People that he often starts his day with a shot of olive oil before coffee, which he believes may help with weight loss and inflammation. While he doesn’t eat much meat, he focuses on “vegetables, fish, and salad,” following a Mediterranean-style diet.
Balanced & Flexible Approach
Still, Seacrest isn’t overly rigid about his eating habits. “I eat [meat] if I’m in a great restaurant and there’s something signature and special from the chef, or if I’m traveling and it’s a thing you got to have,” he shared. “I certainly am not that hard on myself, but I try on a normal basis to stick to the Mediterranean diet.”
Family First: Seacrest Opens Up About Father’s Cancer Battle
Seacrest has been candid about a deeply personal chapter in his life. While speaking on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”, he revealed that his father, Gary Seacrest, is currently facing a challenging prostate cancer battle.
The conversation arose as Seacrest reflected on colleague Dennis Clark’s inspiring remission story. He shared that his father, who turned 81 on July 27, had been “battling cancer for several years” and that they once believed it was “no longer detectable.”
Sadly, the situation has changed. “It got worse and it spread,” Seacrest admitted, offering a rare glimpse into his family’s private struggle while honoring the resilience his father continues to show.
