Lauren Alaina Reveals the Emotional Story of Her Daughter’s Difficult Birth

“American Idol” alum Lauren Alaina is sharing new details about her daughter Beni Doll Arnold’s difficult birth. On June 11, Alaina and her husband Cam Arnold welcomed their bundle of joy, but baby Beni’s entrance into the world was not easy.

“Her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and up under her shoulder and then between her legs,” Alaina explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “So every time I pushed, her heart rate plummeted.”

Alaina described the situation as “an emergency scenario” and she was not the only one worried about whether the baby would be okay. “I mean everyone was, they brought like half of the NICU in there,” the country star revealed. “It was a very scary time.”

Lauren Alaina Was Beyond Grateful

Thankfully, everything ended up just fine, and Alaina was overcome with relief and gratitude. Alaina got teary-eyed recalling the moment when she finally got to hold baby Beni. “It was the best moment of my life,” she shared. “Genuinely, nothing will ever top that.”

Alaina wasn’t the only one overcome with emotion during her daughter’s birth. “I looked over at my husband and he was hysterically sobbing,” she said, adding, “And he’s not a crier.”

The “American Idol” season 10 runner up shared the news of her daughter’s birth via an adorable Instagram post featuring pics of the new happy family and beautiful little Beni.

Alaina captioned her post in the form of a message to her baby, writing, “The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even knew existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time.”

She continued, “You, to your dad and me, are absolute perfection. We are honored God chose us to be your parents.”

Lauren Alaina Loves Being a Mom

Alaina shared that she’s been busy “learning all the things” that come along with being a first time mom, and she’s loving every minute of it. “She’s so sweet, I’m just like obsessed with her,” she said of her 2-month-old daughter.

“I literally stare at her all the time,” Alaina said. “That’s all I do is look at her and feed her and hold her and love on her.”

The singer revealed that she “got ready pretty quick” when she learned she was pregnant, as she and her husband hadn’t yet been trying for a baby. “She was a surprise,” Alaina shared.

And it sounds like Alaina got lucky with Beni Doll, despite her difficult birth. “She’s a good baby. She sleeps through the night,” the new mom shared.
