Kelly Clarkson Gets Support As She Reportedly Struggles With Guilt

Kelly Clarkson is stepping back into her life after taking time to support her children in the death of their father, Kelly’s ex Brandon Blackstock.

But sources close to the O.G. American Idol say while Kelly is back on set filming “The Voice,” she’s quietly struggling with feelings of guilt.

The “Since U Been Gone” singer is apparently wondering if the stress of an oftentimes very contentious divorce hurt Blackstock’s ability to fight his cancer battle.

Brandon Blackstock died of melanoma after a three-year battle earlier this month. Neither Brandon nor Kelly knew about the cancer before they split.

“Kelly is aware of talk that stress can impact the body and make someone more susceptible to cancer,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“Although the timing could be purely coincidental, she knows how much tension the divorce and lawsuits put on them.”

The source emphasized that Kelly “doesn’t blame herself,” but admits she is “conscious that the double whammy of the divorce and the fact that he had to repay her millions of dollars was very tough on him.”

Another source confirmed Kelly’s struggle, but that source says the singer is trying not to dwell on “what ifs,” saying Kelly, “doesn’t want to harp on about what this might have done for Brandon’s health, but it does cross her mind. And it does make her think that maybe she could [have] done more, even though that is unrealistic at its core.”
