The obituary shared by Axelson Funeral & Cremation Services begins, “Narvel Brandon Blackstock peacefully passed to be with the Lord on the morning of August 7th, 2025, after a brave and courageous 3-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded in his home by his family, who comforted him and lovingly handed him off to his grandparents in heaven, who welcomed him home.”

The tribute shares details of Blackstock’s childhood and move to Nashville, where he “began his career in the music business.” It notes how he “played important roles in shaping the careers of many larger-than-life celebrities and left a lasting impact on everyone who met him.”

The obituary also explains that Blackstock pursued other passions. “After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live,” it notes. “He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana.”

The tribute mentions his girlfriend at the time of his death. “Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.”

A December 2024 report from The Sun noted that, according to Jones’ LinkedIn profile, she was Clarkson’s production assistant from 2016 to 2018.

“I successfully assistant managed day to day for artist, Kelly Clarkson under manager, Brandon Blackstock in Los Angeles for music and television,” The Sun reported.

According to the outlet, Jones’ profile also noted, “After a change in management for Ms. Clarkson I transitioned to Executive Assistant for Mr. Blackstock’s cattle operation in Montana where I currently run the office and administration work. I also currently fulfill personal assistant duties for Mr. Blackstock.”

Her profile indicates one responsibility of the executive management assistant role from December 2018 to June 2020 was “assistant managed day to day artist schedule for Kelly Clarkson.”

Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020 after seven years of marriage, and they finalized their divorce in 2022. They shared two children, River and Remington.
