‘American Idol’ Alum Haven Madison Teases New Single

“American Idol” season 21 contestant Haven Madison is giving fans a taste of the new music she will be releasing soon. Dubbed “the next big pop star” by judge Katy Perry during her time on “Idol,” Madison has already released two hit singles, “Castle” and “Why Do the Pills Work.”

During a recent interview with Flaunt the singer, 22, teased a little bit about her next song that will be coming out this July. “I would say it’s pure pop, fun, clever, and honestly has been such a blast to create,” Madison shared.

On July 9, Madison posted a clip of her upcoming song, titled “Anybody,” on Instagram, telling fans there’s a hint in the video as to when it’s coming out. The comment section was filled with excitement and love from fans. Fellow “American Idol” alum Jordan Anthony commented simply, “Yes yes.”

Madison Reflected on Her Musical Journey So Far

Since her elimination from “American Idol” after making it to the top 8 in 2023, Madison has made huge strides in the music industry. The Tennessee native landed a record deal with 19 Recordings/BMG and her singles have amassed impressive numbers on streaming platforms.

“It’s been so special, this is genuinely my dream and I’m so honored that other people believe in it too,” Madison said about audiences embracing her song “Castle.”

Gratitude seems to be a theme for Madison when taking in all she has accomplished so far. In April the singer performed at Audacy’s Leading Ladies alongside Gwen Stefani, Alessia Cara, and Lainey Wilson. Madison called the night “genuinely so special,” adding, “To be on stage with those women was the most empowering thing ever.”

Therapeutic Songwriting

Fans of Madison know that her song lyrics feel deeply personal yet very relatable. During an interview with CBS News, Madison revealed the meaning behind her upcoming single. “I wrote it because I started liking a guy that wasn’t even my type,” she shared. “… I wanted to write a song about how I am way better at loving other people.”

Madison’s music is very honest, and she told Flaunt that it comes from a place of healing. “A lot of time, the song I’m writing any given day actually reveals to me how I feel about something,” she explained. “It’s the strangest but most powerful form of therapy.”

The singer also spoke about how proud she is of her own journey, and how writing her songs has helped her grow. “It’s cliche, but it takes a lot to decide that you’re not going to let the things that hurt remain in your head,” Madison said.
