Samone listed the reasons why she admires the “Kill Bill” singer, explaining, “She’s a great writer, and I feel like she’s just so focused … she don’t really play no games,” adding, “And I think she’s very relatable as well.”

“I really do want to collab with her one day,” Samone continued. She then seemed to direct her next comment to SZA herself in case she was watching. “So, if you see this … just give me a little ring,” she said. “Hit me up.”

Gabby Samone Has Been Making Big Career Moves Since ‘Idol’

While on “American Idol” Samone got the chance to work with some heavy-hitters in the music industry. Fantasia served as a mentor for the 22-year-old Baltimore native and recently gave her a shout-out during one of her performances.

“Thank you so much for taking the time out of your set to speak life into me! ❤️” Samone captioned an Instagram post that captured the heartfelt moment.

Samone also got to sing with the legendary Jennifer Holliday in a duet that brought the house down on the “Idol” finale. “It was definitely a partnership,” she told “Dish Nation.” “We was working together.”

In September Samone will return to her hometown of Baltimore to open for renowned R&B artist Eric Benet at the Horseshoe Casino, and she kicked off her own tour on August 12. According to Samone, part of her performances will be dedicated to yet another iconic singer.

“I’m doing a Whitney tribute,” she shared, referring to the late, great Whitney Houston. “Her birthday just passed and for each city I’m gonna have something special.”

What Fans Can Expect From Samone’s New Music

In July Samone shared with Baltimore Beat that she plans to release new music soon, and now she’s giving more details about what fans can expect.

“You can just get some real life issues that I’ve gone through,” she told “Dish Nation.” “Relationships, breakups, heartbreak, love, all of that.”

She joked that she might try her hand at rap, but will likely stay in her R&B comfort zone. And Samone will always stay true to her roots. “You gonna get that Edmonson Avenue, Baltimore out of me, and some of that music,” she shared.
