Another Tuesday is here, which means we have a new episode of “America’s Got Talent” 2025 tonight, right? Technically, there is a new episode of “AGT” season 20 tonight on NBC, but it comes with a twist.
We have a new episode of “America’s Got Talent” tonight, but it will be in line with this being season 20 of the reality competition show. NBC will be celebrating the big accomplishment with a 20th birthday party tonight on “AGT” 2025. While there won’t be any new auditions or live performances from the top 44 acts on season 20, there will be some familiar faces making their way back to the stage.
When Did ‘America’s Got Talent’ Debut on Television?
“AGT” first premiered on television on June 21, 2006, according to NBC Insider. That first season ran until August 17, ending with 11-year-old singer Bianca Ryan being named the first-ever winner of “America’s Got Talent.”
At that time, the show only used three judges, with David Hasselhoff, Brandy Norwood, and Piers Morgan being the original judges. The original host was legendary TV personality Regis Philbin, who set a high standard for future hosts like Terry Crews and Nick Cannon.
Since season 1, “AGT” has added many new elements to the show, like adding a fourth judge and the introduction of Golden Buzzers.
Time to Celebrate 20 Seasons of ‘AGT’
For tonight’s new episode on Tuesday, August 12, producers will be taking a look back at the show’s history. Tonight’s episode is titled “America’s Got Talent: 20th Birthday Celebration.”
This special episode is going to look back at some of the unforgettable acts we have seen over the years, proving that talent can come from anywhere.
Tonight’s special episode will also feature interviews with season 20 judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown. Crews will also help lead the way, as they all look back at some of the most unforgettable acts from “AGT” history. This, of course, all while highlighting the moments, both on and off the stage, that will live on forever.
