‘AGT’ 2025 Schedule: Are the Auditions Over?

With a new episode of “America’s Got Talent” season 20 tonight, fans of the show are expecting more auditions to take place. However, there will be no new auditions tonight on NBC; instead, a special Golden Buzzers episode will air in its place.

With no new “AGT” auditions tonight, many people are wondering if the auditions are over. We break down the “AGT” 2025 schedule for you right here.

The ‘AGT’ Auditions Are Not Over

While there are no new auditions tonight on “America’s Got Talent,” that doesn’t mean the auditions are over just yet. Tonight’s new episode on NBC will be episode 8 for season 20, which means we have had seven weeks of auditions so far.

According to the “AGT” YouTube page, the number of weeks for auditions has varied over the past few seasons. For season 19, there were eight weeks of auditions. However, for season 18 and season 17, there were nine weeks of auditions held.

If we take a closer look at season 20 and the Golden Buzzers already handed out, that might give us a better idea of how many weeks of auditions remain. This season has 10 Golden Buzzers available to hand out, with all four judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown — having two Golden Buzzers to hand out, and “AGT” host Terry Crews also having two Golden Buzzers to hand out.

So far for “AGT” 2025, we have seen nine Golden Buzzers handed out. Howie Mandel is the only judge with one left to hand out. That, theoretically, means we would have one more week of auditions, he would hand out the Golden Buzzer, and then it would be time to move on to the Quarterfinals, right?

You would think, and that is what we think will happen for this season. So, the final week of auditions should be next week, July 29, 2025.

The Remaining ‘AGT’ Schedule

After the auditions wrap on “America’s Got Talent” season 20, it will then be time to hop into the Quarterfinals. The remaining acts will be split into four groups. Each of these groups would perform for the start of the live shows on “AGT” 2025.

Each week, the judges get to send one act directly to the Finals with another Golden Buzzer option. From the rest of the contestants, America will vote, and the top 3 acts will move on to the Semifinals.

The performances for the Quarterfinals should take place on Tuesday, August 5; Tuesday, August 12; Tuesday, August 19; and Tuesday, August 26. The results for the Quarterfinals would then take place on Wednesday, August 6; Wednesday, August 13; Wednesday, August 20; and Wednesday, August 27.

That would then put the Semifinals on Tuesday, September 2. The 12 acts that America voted through would perform, with the results being announced on Wednesday, September 3.

From there, six acts would join the four acts that the judges gave Golden Buzzers to in the Quarterfinals. These acts would perform in the Finals on Tuesday, September 9. Then on Wednesday, September 10, the winner of “America’s Got Talent” season 20 would be crowned.

Of course, this is all based on previous seasons, as NBC has only released the “AGT” schedule for July. However, it would fit perfectly into when “The Voice” normally premieres in the fall.
