The “America’s Got Talent” season 20 live shows kick off tonight on NBC. We have week 1 of the quarterfinals and time for America to vote for their favorite acts from the Top 44 to move on to the semifinals.
With the live shows comes a schedule change, as “AGT” 2025 will air two times each week. Find out the new “America’s Got Talent” season 20 schedule below.
How Do the ‘AGT’ Live Shows Work?
After the “AGT” judges announced the Top 44 acts two weeks ago, we then switched to the special “20th Birthday Celebration” episode last week. We will finally be kicking off the live shows, with America getting a chance to vote for their favorite acts this week.
For the Quarterfinals, there will be four rounds with 11 acts performing in each round. Each week, the “America’s Got Talent” season 20 judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown — can send one of the acts straight to the finals with the Live Golden Buzzer.
That means the remaining 10 acts would be competing for votes at the end of each Tuesday night episode. On Wednesday, Terry Crews will read the “AGT” results. The three acts with the highest number of votes will move forward to the semifinals.
The 12 acts that won their respective votes will compete again in the Semifinals, after the four weeks of Quarterfinals are held. During this round, the new Semifinal Golden Buzzer will come into play.
This new Golden Buzzer will allow the judges to send one act straight to the Finals. They all must agree on which act it will be. Only one Golden Buzzer will be handed out this round.
From there, the top six acts receiving votes from America will move on to the Finals, along with the Semifinal Golden Buzzer winner, and the four Quarterfinal Golden Buzzer winners. These acts will form the top 11 finalists for “America’s Got Talent” 2025.
What Is the ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 20 Live Show Schedule?
